Underpinning all we do is the promotion of reading and the love of books; we aim to build a culture where reading is the norm, highly valued and enjoyed by boys, teachers and parents alike.
At the same time we understand that it is essential for our boys to develop strong skills in written, oral and visual literacy. This will allow boys to share their ideas effectively as well as to gain exposure to the ideas of others and thereby expand their own body of information. Teachers guide the learning process to ensure that boys can write effectively using the structural features of an appropriate text, read and comprehend texts regardless of the type of text or media, speak following the structure of a text and also listen to and comprehend the speaking or presentations of others regardless of the text or media. Our boys are also encouraged to spell correctly and to handwrite legibly.
